Are mindsets of risk managers changing?

Just a year ago, Nik Gowing presented Thinking the Unthinkable’s cutting edge findings for the opening keynote of the Association of Insurance and Risk Managers in Industry and Commerce annual conference in Birmingham.

He and Co-Director Chris Langdon experienced reluctance by delegates to embrace the scale of disruption and its inevitable impact on their work.

To follow up, Nik attended this year’s conference in Liverpool. He wanted to assess if mindsets of risk managers are changing.

The answer he discovered is ‘yes’.

But there remains reluctance to be bold enough to end conformist approaches to disruption and to think unthinkables.
